Ireland and Scotland first played each other in Belfast in 1877. Since then, the two teams have battled for victory a total of 139 times with the longest winning streak of 11 matches being held by Scotland.
Forming in 1875, the Irish side have accomplished many a triumph which includes eleven of their players being awarded a place in the World Rugby Hall of Fame. In 2018, Ireland were named as World Rugby’s team of the year and for the very first time in history, secured 1st place in the World Rugby Rankings in 2019.
Scotland and Ireland’s last match resulted in Ireland achieving their first Triple Crown since 2018 as they stormed to victory with a 21-point winning margin and took home the Centenary Quaich for the 5th year running.

Scotland and Wales last played on 12th February 2022 and Wales seized a close victory (20-17) allowing them to hold onto the Doddie Weir Cup for another year.
